The Turtle AiP project history

Our story

A practical idea rooted in family caregiving.

Our founding story

Turtle AiP's founding concept took shape at the 2018 OHSU Invent-a-thon, where the team won first place in the Management of Chronic Conditions category. The winning concept centered on devices and services that connect family caregivers and seniors—an idea that continues to guide our work.

The challenge that still guides us

Turtle AiP is built around a familiar challenge: helping older adults remain at home while family, neighbors, and care professionals coordinate from near and far. The project brings together experience in caregiving, clinical work, engineering, product, and operations to explore how technology can make that circle of support clearer and more connected.

What we are building toward

Our focus is responsible support for aging in place. We are exploring how AI, compatible home sensors, robotics, and shared care information can help people notice changes, stay coordinated, and handle everyday routines—without replacing consent, human judgment, professional care, or emergency services.
